Each house will have a home base with 10 “flags” to protect (and a safe area/zone of the field). Each house will try to “capture” the flags (one at a time) from the other 2 houses and bring them back to their safe area. If tagged on the way to get a flag, students just need to return to their safe area. If tagged on the way back with a flag, students must return the flag, then return to their safe area. Points: Teams get 1 point for every flag they have in their home base when time runs out. At the end of the game, points only count for flags that have successfully made it back to the team’s safe area. EXAMPLE: Once the person holding my ankles lets go, and straddles over me, I can let go of the person’s ankles that I’m holding and start my straddle run…until then end, where I would lie face down, extending the chain again… Points: 10 points for 1st place, 8 points for 2nd place, 6 point for 3rd place, 4 point for 4th place, 2 for 5th and 0 for 6th place.

Points: 10 points for 1st place, 8 points for 2nd place, 6 point for 3rd place. M/S Students divided into teams by P.E. staff (cross grade) Sr's are helpers/workers.
Lunch is served from lunch service (and needs to be scheduled)
Stations are operated by teaching staff
Focus is on fun - non traditional activities & lots of water!
Took place on a Friday (rain date Monday) and was from about 11:00 - 4:00. This year will be all day!
Every grade level gets a different color T-Shirt which is donated by the PTO.
Lunch is served from our lunch service (hot dog, hamburger, chips, veggies) or they can bring a cold lunch. We eat outside that day!
Everyone is outside for lunch from 4K-8th grade (about 1,100 kids)
Older grades run in our mile race before lunch and then participate in their activities after lunch. Our younger grades participate in the run (1/2 mile or 1/4 mile) as one of their stations in the afternoon.
Teams were set up in their TAG (teacher advisory gouts) 15 kids (mixed 7th and 8th graders) and they played against other TAGs.
Here is a copy of our activities that we did for our 7th and 8th grades. We tried a competition between classes and then had the winning class play the teachers in a game of dodgeball. Lots of fun!
We really needed a water station. They would have loved the water can really that our younger grades do. We will do the water can really this year.
